Equipped Leaders
Tools for Success

CHEF families love learning and we encourage our kids to enjoy the journey.

Our parents join together because of our common attitude, faith, and goals.

Lifelong friendships

Our children will grow up with peers that are committed to deepening and lasting relationships.

CHEF of GNO (Christian Home Educators Fellowship of Greater New Orleans) is organized exclusively for the purpose of providing service and support to Christian home education families.

Affordable Support

CHEF of GNO is homeschool support group that offers great value for little expense–yearly dues are only $30.

Legislative Support

CHEF is a national organization that is an active influence in new legislation.

We are a unified community of families working together for the benefit of our children and the glory of God. We love homeschooling our children alongside other like-minded families.

Some of our activities

Skate Night

This is a private skate night for CHEF members and their friends. Only Christian music will be played.

Volleyball for Teens

Teen boys and girls ages 13 and up practice their sports and social skills by joining sports clubs like volleyball.

Christmas in the Oaks

Every Christmas we decorate a tree to be on display in City Park during Celebration of the Oaks Christmas Celebration.

History Night

Written reports, essays, biographies about any history your child is learning are just some of the ideas. It can be something you may have worked on for a while or it can be something as simple as a biography on Christopher Columbus. This is a time to build confidence and teach character in committing to a project and getting it done!

Field Day

Field Day is one of the the biggest events of the homeschool year. Kids ages 4 and up compete against others in their age group and everyone earns ribbons. It is a day where we all get together for lots of fun and games in a safe, Christian environment.

This is a weekly P.E. class for all ages at Big Easy Sportsplex. Our children have 30 minutes of structured P.E. and then are able to play with their homeschool friends. It is a great time for moms to have some much needed fellowship as well as watch their children enjoy themselves.

Gingerbread House Party

Come build and decorate your gingerbread house with CHEF! You provide the gingerbread house and architectural icing; we’ll provide all the candy for decorating.

Fine Arts Night

A night for your child to show their artistic side. Can include playing an instrument, presenting a piece of original artwork (any medium) or doing a presentation on a famous musician, composer or artist.

Missoula Children's Theater

A weeklong performing arts residency starring 50-60 local school age children in a fullscale musical.

Mom's Banquet

The Mom’s Banquet is a sweet time at the end of the school year when we moms come together at a nice restaurant for lunch. The purpose is to encourage and bless one another. We will also plan a small agenda for that time such as a game or sharing what God did during the year.

Mother-Daughter Tea

Come and enjoy an afternoon of fun and fellowship with other moms and their daughters. It will be held in the spring, and we tentatively plan to have an etiquette course to go along with the afternoon tea. If you have been involved in the past with such a tea, we welcome your help!

Father-Son Outing

Perhaps grilling together, learning about automotive care, going to a sporting event, video game competition, or a building project.

Family Camp Out

The CHEF of GNO's family camping trip is a great time to bond with your family and with fellow homeschoolers. There will be some planned activities and also plenty of time to do some fishing, fellowshipping, bike riding, or whatever your family would like to do. We'll also have Sunday church service in the great outdoors.

We will have three graduations at the end of the year: Kindergarten, Middle School, and High School.

Father-Daughter Dinner

Dads, this is a great time to celebrate your daughters. Take them out for a special meal and remind them how cherished they are in your eyes.
